Pillsbury® simply…™ Refrigerated Cookies Review

I was asked to try cookies ...seriously?Yes cookies. Fresh baked cookies.  Do they not know me at all? How could they ask me to try cookies? How could they ask me to ask you to try cookies? Aren't those refrigerated cookie doughs filled with trans fats and HFCS? Not these.

The new cookies come in two favorite flavors, Chocolate Chip and Peanut Butter. They are made with wholesome ingredients like flour, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla and have zero grams trans fat, no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial colors or flavors and no preservatives. The cookies are ready to bake so there is no messy preparation, and they are ready in minutes.

Keeping in mind that one cookie didn't make me fat, dozens of cookies over a lifetime contributed to my weight gain and keeping with my everything in moderation I decided to try the chocolate chip cookies. The smell was amazing. Fresh baked cookies take me right back to my childhood. My Mom was a fabulous baker and her creations were always amazing. All of the kids in elementary school looked forward to my birthday because they knew my Mom would send fabulous treats. Is it any wonder I find comfort in cookies?

I ate one cookie and it was delicious. Honestly, it tasted fresh and homemade. It didn't have that chemical or highly processed taste that so many store bought cookies and cookie doughs have. I gave Ken a cookie and then quickly wrapped up the rest and sent them to my skinny teenage neighbors. They couldn't believe I made cookies just for them! Their Mom never bakes cookies and these cookies were SO GOOD! I emailed their Mom a link to a coupon to save $1.25 off the cookies so she could be their hero next week and I'm sharing that link with you  so you can get a  $1.25 off coupon for the new Pillsbury® simply…™ Refrigerated Cookies.

Baking these cookies, eating one and giving the rest away really gave me a good feeling. It made me feel connected to my Mom again and sparked a "light bulb moment"  She loved to bake and was quite thin, now I know her joy was found in creating the baked goods and sharing them with family and friends not in eating. Yes I can still enjoy baking and the comfort of those delicious smells and not sabotage my diet.

  1. It's nice that they're giving people alternatives to the usual junk available. A lot of people want to take little steps rather than change everything, so this sounds like a good way to help them. Provided everyone can resist eating the lot as well as you can!

  2. They sound yummy! And I agree with your "moderation" philosophy!
